The Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations (FELASA) is the umbrella organization of independent European national and regional laboratory animal science associations. FELASA was established in 1978.

Among other activities, FELASA publishes recommendations on education and training for persons responsible for the welfareWelfare A complex and dynamic internal state that includes: successful biologic functioning, positive experiences, and absence of negative conditions. The animal adapts effectively to internal needs and external stimuli and maintains a good mental state. of laboratory animals, for those responsible for the design and conduct of studies involving animal experimentation, and for specialists in laboratory animal science.

FELASA published a statement on a proposal from the Laboratory Animal Science Association (LASA) for the European Community to adopt retrospective reporting of scientific procedures on animals.
