Self-mutilation

Self-destructive behavior (self-mutilation). It may be an aspect of stereotypic behavior and the result of boredom. Self-injury may also be caused by chronic pain/itching or by a central nervous system disorder. Synonyms: autotomy, automutilation, self-injury.
